- Surface must be clean, dry and free of foreign material. dirt, oil and loose material. De-gloss surface, if necessary, for better adhesion to drywall surface. If spackling seems dry when opening, stir completely and evenly until it’s a smooth, creamy consistency. Apply with a clean putty knife. For a smooth finish, dip putty knife in water and lightly smooth spackling.
- Wash tools immediately after use with water. Cured product must be cut or scraped away. Be sure container is closed and tightly sealed. Store container in a cool, dry place away from extreme heat or cold.
- May be painted in as little as 15 minutes on repairs 2cm in depth or smaller, depending on temp., humidity and depth of fill. If sanding, additional dry time may be needed, approximately 60 minutes. If sanding is required, use medium-grit sandpaper and finish with fine-grit for a smooth finish. Wet sanding is recommended to avoid generation of dust.
- Paint with latex or oil-based paints. Ensure that DAP® FAST DRY Premium Spackling is thoroughly dry before applying oil-based paint.
